Unlike ripe jackfruit, young jack is unsweet and great to use in savory dishes. Our Karana young jack comes in a jar and saves you the effort from laboriously cutting the meat from the fruit.
All you need to do is follow the steps below to prepare the jackfruit for cooking:
Strain the jackfruit and rinse it with water to get rid of the excess salt
Use your fingers or a potato masher to squeeze as much water out as possible, at the same time breaking it into smaller pieces
Chop it into even smaller pieces if the recipe calls for it
